Publication of the edited book “Digital accessibility and the inclusion of persons with disabilities: rules and best practices” (in Italian)

The collective volume “Accessibilità digitale e inclusione delle persone con disabilità: regole e buone pratiche” (in Italian language), edited by Carola Ricci and Anna Facchinetti, is available in open access on the website of the publishing house Giappichelli.

Among the main results of the RISID research project, the collection of writings is aimed at scholars, legal practitioners and public administrations committed to the effective realization of the rights of persons with disabilities through new digital technologies.

The book offers a multilevel legal analysis of the rules governing the accessibility of goods and services, considering the potential and risks of digital technologies for persons with disabilities and incorporating perspectives from international, European, constitutional, comparative and administrative law. The theoretical study is complemented by the presentation of local best practices such as the app Si@unipv for the orientation of persons with disabilities – especially visual impairments (but not only) – at the University of Pavia, developed through a participatory approach involving scholars (lawyers, sociologists, economists, and computer scientists), the third sector and students, transferable to similar contexts.
